Georgia
In Georgia, Los Defensores operates as a lawyer referral service. To participate in the Los Defensores service in Georgia, lawyers are required to be in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia, not be subject to any disciplinary action by the State Bar of Georgia, must be practicing professionals in good standing for at least 24 months, and additionally, individuals must demonstrate that they have experience and knowledge in the relevant areas of law. At this time, three lawyers pay to participate in the Los Defensores Georgia service, although this may change in the future. Florida
In Florida, Los Defensores is a qualified provider, not a law firm. Any person who deliberately and knowingly submits a false or fraudulent claim to receive payment for a loss will commit a crime and may face penalties, such as fines and jail time in a state prison. You are not responsible for covering costs, unless they are deducted from any amount recovered as part of your case. Not all lawyers practice in all jurisdictions or areas of practice.
